Apr 24 ,Medicine & Health

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the voluntary nationwide recall of Silk-brand chocolate flavor soymilk due to a labeling error.

The FDA said the WhiteWave Foods Co. of Broomfield, Colo., is recalling 11-ounce plastic single serve bottles of Silk Soymilk Chocolate Flavor because they might contain undeclared milk protein, posing a health risk to people allergic to that ingredient.

The recalled bottles are printed with both a "use by" date of "05 07 08" and a UPC of 2529360028.

The product can be return to the place of purchase for a refund or exchange. Consumers with questions can contact the company at 800-587-2259.

Singing to females makes male birds' brains happy
The melodious singing of birds has been long appreciated by humans, and has often been thought to reflect a particularly positive emotional state of the singer. In a new study published in the online, open-access journal PLoS ONE on October 1, researchers at the RIKEN Brain Science Institute in Japan have demonstrated that this can be true. When male birds sang to attract females, specific "reward" areas of their brain were strongly activated. Such strong brain activation resulted in a similar change in brain reward function to that which is caused by addictive drugs.
