Amazon.com will start providing original weekly entertainment series from June 1, the online retailer said Thursday.
The 30-minute program, called "Amazon Fishbowl with Bill Maher," will stream live every Thursday night on the company's homepage and will feature live performances with musicians and interviews with authors, directors and other celebrities.
"We believe that Bill Maher's interviews with some of the world's most renowned and up-and-coming artists and entertainers will offer customers unique insight into the motivations and inspirations behind the books, films, and music they love," said Kathy Savitt, the company's vice president for strategic communications and content.
The program will be previewed at the Sundance Film Festival this weekend and will offer customers highlights of the show on Amazon.com beginning Jan. 24.
