Texas Instruments Incorporated announced Friday that it has a reached a settlement in ongoing litigation with Conexant Systems Inc.
According to the settlement, Conexant will pay TI $70 million in the second quarter of 2006, and TI will grant the company a license to essential patents relating to DSL technology.
Litigation going back to 2003 was spurred from patent-license negotiations initiated by TI with a subsidiary of Conexant called Globespan Virata.

IEEE 802.11n will be an especially important standard in the WLAN market as it will build upon and extend the capabilities for the vast number of users currently enjoying the benefits of Wi-Fi connectivity. Companies within the WWiSE consortium that contributed to the proposal are Airgo Networks, Bermai, Broadcom, Conexant Systems, Inc., STMicroelectronics and Texas Instruments.
