Search engine picked for China IPv6 router

Jan 04 ,Technology

A Silicon Valley firm has been selected to supply network search engines for the first core router of China's IPv6 next-generation Internet Protocol.

Integrated Device Technology announced Wednesday that China's Tsinghua Bitway picked its IDT 75K62100 NSE for what will be the BitEngine 12416 router, which will be a key cog in future wireless communications in China.

China is investing heavily in an IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) network for future mobile communications in a market with millions of users and is already using the BitEngine router in the infrastructure being implemented by major Chinese telecoms.

IDT said in a news release that the IDT 75K62100 NSE sharply reduces power consumption and has a pin-compatible lineup that allows Tsinghua to use one design to support a multitude of NSE configurations, which reduces development costs and time frames.
