Yak and CounterPath Solutions Monday announced an accord that will allow Yak to launch its peer-to-peer Voice over Internet Protocol service worldwide.
Yak's yakForFree service, which is powered by CounterPath, is slated to debut later this month and will allow subscribers to place voice and video calls to other Yak members free of charge.
"yakForFree has the potential to reach millions of people worldwide, establishing Yak as a premier global VoIP provider," said YAK Chairman Charles Zwebner.
CounterPath provides its eyebeam SIP softphones as a core technology for yakForFree.
